The Indiana Hoosiers and Indiana Pacers
Indiana Hoosiers | |||||||||||||||||
Indiana is 7-3 in the Big Ten, good enough for them to be in 4th place. Last game against Penn State the Hoosiers demolished the Nittany Lions. Luke Recker, the freshman, showed basketball critics why he should be the Big Ten rookie of the year. A.J. Guyton also stepped up with his usual solid play in the backcourt. Rob Turner and William Gladness continue to please Hoosier fans and show everyone that they can shoot some major hoops. Indiana's next game is Tuesday, February 10, in West Lafayette against the Purdue Boilermakers. The last metting between these two teams Indiana shocked the whole NCAA. Good luck, Indiana (not like they'll need any)!
Indiana Pacers | |||||||||||||||||
The Indiana Pacers come into the all-star break with a surprising lead in the Eastern Conference over the World Champions, Chicago Bulls. As usual Reggie Miller has played an excellent first half of the season. Rik Smits also showed first year head coach, Larry Bird. In my opinion Larry Bird is one of the best coaches in the Pacer's longtime organization. Another surprising star, Jalen Rose has stepped up off the bench. The Pacers last game was against the best team in the NBA, the Seattle Supersonics. The Pacers put up a fight but didn't have the kind of game to beat Seattle. Vin Baker scored 41 for the Sonics. Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, and coach Larry Bird are in the all-star game, Sunday, Feb. 8.
